Hi Folks,
We’re looking forward to gathering again at The Jewish Education Project on December 4th from 1-4pm for our next Community of Practice. Please let me know if you will be attending in person or virtually.
I will send out the agenda in advance, but in the meantime wanted to send two items for you to think through/work on ahead of time:
1. Pleased come prepared to reflect on one professional development opportunity you’ve been involved in since our last gathering (wonderplay, NAEYC, other): What was one takeaway you feel will help you in designing experiences for families with young children?
2. Using film to enhance our practice. You probably noticed that we filmed your pilots! We want to now use this tool to reflect and refine.
o Avoda Arts, Areyvut and Teva: Using the ‘Elements of Experience’ grid as a guide (attached), pick out one or two clips from your video that show 1 success and 1 area that needs improvement. Please come prepared to show the clip(s) (you can just make note of the time and we’ll cue it up) and respond to the following: When you saw yourself on video, what questions did it raise for you? Using the “Elements of Experience’ grid, the group will then be able to share back what they saw in the video in terms of core concepts/big ideas/successes/challenge, ask questions and suggest ideas.
o Storahtelling: Choose one element of your upcoming pilot to share and using the ‘Elements of Experience’ grid be prepared to share the intentional elements you’ve incorporated and any challenges you foresee. The CoP can help work through one or two challenges with you.
