Hey everyone,

I’m currently using IzPack 5.0 in my project and I’m trying to upgrade it to version 5.2.4. However, I’m encountering an error when I push the changes to Jenkins. I would really appreciate any help.

My izpack.xml looks like the attached XML file.

I’m using SBT with the following dependencies:

  • "org.codehaus.izpack" % "izpack-compiler"   % "5.2.4" % "setup",
  • "org.codehaus.izpack" % "izpack-installer"  % "5.2.4" % "setup",
  • "org.codehaus.izpack" % "izpack-uninstaller"% "5.2.4" % "setup",
  • "org.codehaus.izpack" % "izpack-native"     % "5.2.4" % "setup",
  • "org.codehaus.izpack" % "izpack-gui"        % "5.2.4" % "setup",
  • "org.codehaus.izpack" % "izpack-panel"      % "5.2.4" % "setup"

The Jenkins error can be found in the attached .txt file.

Thanks in advance 🙂
Youssef

Hi Youssef,

When updating to IzPack 5.x the Version within the „ zPack.xml" must not be changed to anything else than 5.0 (this is the version of the schema used. You may encounter also other Validation errors if there are attributes that no longer exist. The reason for this was the activation of the validation on all IzPack related files.

Cheers Patrick

Hey Patrick,

thanks for your feedback.
Can you please tell me which attributes are no longer existing or give me a link where they are documented ?

Cheers
Youssef

Hey Youssef,

I can not tell you exactly, as there was not really validation done it could be various once or none at all. Best is to open the files using a validating XML editor. Or using the try and error approach...

Hi  Youssef,

the parser usually throws errors with information about the affected attribute.
