Hi Everyone,
This is Sophia S (KK7YNA); Just wanted to share this really exciting piece of news, as my senior year of high school has gotten quite busy and I haven't been able to attend a club meeting in quite some time! While in fall of my senior year I proceeded to earn my general and amateur extra license within the span of about 3 weeks, I was always either too busy or hesitant to set up a radio station /antenna to make my first contact (thank you to those who reached out to help!). Recently, during MIT’s campus preview weekend, I had the privilege of making my first contact with the W1MX station on the 14.220 MHz (20 m) band, 56 signal report in Jacksonville, North Carolina after calling CQ for about 3 minutes!
