Hi,

I'm running iRODS on Ubuntu and I recently upgraded to 5.0.1.

I've tried to promote a user to groupadmin, but this happened:

iadmin moduser testuser type groupadmin
remote addresses: 127.0.1.1 ERROR: rcGeneralAdmin failed with error -167000 SYS_LIBRARY_ERROR

I've attached the log I got from my iRODS provider.

I can still promote users to rodsadmin, but I can't demote them back to rodsuser. So some type modifications work, some don't. I'm pretty sure this worked in the past. Did something go wrong during my upgrade? Can I fix this somehow?

Thanks in advance

Alanna

Hi Alanna,

Welcome.

I see these two parts of your log...

> status [SSL_CERT_ERROR] errno [] -- message [post connection certificate check failed]

and

> status [SSL_CERT_ERROR] errno [] -- message [failed in svrToSvrConnect for resource [demoResc], at hostname [localhost], error code -2105000]

I think you are trying to use SSL with a hostname set to 'localhost'
somewhere - and the certificate checking is not happy.

I suggest removing any mention of 'localhost' in the client
environment, the server_config.json, and the catalog.
