Hi All,

I'm looking for a monitor program to run on the 86/30 Multibus Card.

I've found some binaries on Bill's page here using the ISDM 86 code:

http://www.nj7p.info/Computers/Software/Mon.html

I've also found the source on Mark Ogden's page here:

https://mark-ogden.uk/files/intel/Intel86/isdm.86/3.2/

The problem is I'm going to need to move the Data and Stack Segment and there's no instructions on how to reassemble and I can't even see which is the main source file assuming it's there. Can anyone give me some pointers please ?

Thanks
Martyn.

The knowledge has already evaporated from my brain, but I feel like I've crossed that bridge once already, when I replaced the 386 board in my 310 with an 8086 board (I later replaced it with a 286, but it was 8086 for a while). I might have even mentioned here which ROMs I used -- will have to go back and look to see if I have any notes.

Hi Martyn,

It's been a while since I posted anything here.  I have assembled ISDM for a different multibus board.  I think it is an 88/25 if I remember correctly.  There is little source to see but if you are just wanting to relocate segments.  That can be done in the files for the package.  I think there is even one specifically for the 86/30 in there.  The submit files do all the work and I think it creates the eprom images as well.  I will have to go back and look at the process as it has been a while since I did it.

If you have an MDS Series-III (with the 86 board) there is a program that will use the serial port that is on the RPC board.  You can control and download programs to your target system that has the iSDM EPROMS installed on it.  This is how I have mine setup at the moment.  My intention was to write some code to exercise the ethernet board set.  While I could do this with the set plugged into the MDS, the address it uses is the same as the disk controller card.  I hope to sometime have a simulated NRM on my network and boot ISIS-III to have network storage.

Take a look at the files on the iSDM disk.  If you can't work it out.  I will dig into it and help.

Best Regards, Mark

Hi again Martyn,

The file to run is 8635.a86.  Modify it if you have changed the communication channel or interrupt location on your board.  Then if you want different locations for your segments, modify cnf86.csd in the loc86 section.

Once that is done,  just run: SUBMIT CNF86 8635.  It should build your image.  After that run SUBMIT PROM86 8635.  It uses ipps.  You should end up with some .evn & .odd files.

Best of luck!

The source directory contains the several *.csd file which contain the sequence of commands to build the various configurations.
However if you look in my intel80tools GitHub site under the src directory you will find an ISDM subdirectory which contains the build makefile i created to perform the build

Hi Mark,

I had a look at your GitHub site and managed to do the initial make, but couldn’t work out how to use the makefile.ipps to create the prom images.

Thanks

Martyn.
