I just created a bit with an invalid URL: http://infobitt.com/b/6269 (there's an extra "http://" at the end of the source URL)

How do I edit or delete this bitt?

thanks,
glenn

Just hover over the text of the fact, and a trashcan should appear. If you are using a mobile device, tap and the trashcan should appear. Just press on the trashcan icon and, if it is the last fact in the bitt, the whole bitt will be deleted.

Thanks for trying it out! Also, have you seen the help video? It's in one of the menus at the top right.
Or just go here: http://www.infobitt.com/help

I know I can delete a fact which I've posted to a bitt. What I'd prefer is a way to edit a fact I've submitted, instead of deleting it and submitting a new fact.

On my browser I cannot copy the text of a fact, so the delete-and-resubmit cycle requires me to:

1. Retype the entire fact, which carries with it the risk of another typo, or

2. Save all facts to a word processing document in another window, and paste the fact in the bitt instead of typing it there.

I generally copy and paste, anyway, because typing inside the bitt box is so slow. Is it sending every character I type back to the server before displaying it to me?

The site design makes it difficult for me to get the fact text, but it's possible in my desktop browser. I'm using Chrome on a Chromebook. I have done the same in Windows. The secret is finding a part of the window that allows click and drag to highlight the text. Then I right-click (or native Chromebook Alt+click) to copy. Is your browser in an incompatible environment, Ed?

Fact editing has been long planned, but I'm not sure when it will be done. There are scalability problems slowing down the site and making it difficult to use, so I want to get on top of those.

Is it really slow to type? I haven't noticed that myself. We do save your text in the background, but I don't think with every single keystroke. I'm not sure if Ben is on this list…

Good point, Tim. Anyway, this discussion is making me think we should move editing up the priority list.

I found bitt-ranking much easier over the weekend. Are your developers working overtime?

You're seeing the effects of software improvements made earlier together with lower traffic over the weekend. Let me know if it's even faster for you now. It should be.
