Dear Tanay ji,
I think some mix up in the thread. The photos posted by Mani ji are of Pedilanthus tithymaloides.
Shrikant ji has indicated Zingiber neesanum. I am not sure if Shrikant ji's reply is for this thread only??
regards
Prashant

Dear Rasingam ji,
Kindly follow the the posting guidelines and try to keep the images within the maximum range of 150KB, this will help us a lot !! keeping in mind the number of post per month At Eflora of India the database starts to overflow and constructing it becomes cumbersome for Garg Ji.
Regards
Tanay

A reply:
"It is not E. acuminata. because the leaves are entire. In E acuminata (Boraginaceae) the leaves are serrate. Most probably this is E. laevis with the asymmetric nature of leaves. To confirm the id I need the number of styles and whether the style is bifid or not.

Giby"

Inflorescence and foliage look much like ombu, Phytolacca dioica, from South America. Is this a cultivated tree?
