Hey All,

I do not think this is a bug, I get no errors from IGV, but here is the relevant info.

I am using IGV 2.3.71.

I have noticed that when I load MUT files from a URL even if I load an index as well, it takes a very long time to load.  When I load the file locally (from local disk) with the index, it loads very fast and is available almost instantly.  I am fairly sure this may have to do with the default feature visibility that is set when loaded form the URL, as I do not see the "zoom in to see features" like I do when I load it locally.  It seems like it is waiting for everything to load.

Is there a clever way to set the default feature visibility for MUT tracks?  Maybe I am way off, thoughts?

Thank you,

Connor

Do you have a public URL with example that I can try?

Hey Jim,

I actually don't have a public dataset available.  It has been reported to me today that the lag seems to have largely subsided when using the windows package as opposed to the java-web start.  The user also reported an update to their java version.  So this issue may have been unrelated to IGV and more systems specific.  Also, the latency of the host when this was being tested may have been extreme (unrelated to IGV sessions).

If there seems to be a larger problem that I can consistently reproduce, I will make a public server and serve some examples.

Sorry for the nebulous response, thanks for your continued help,

Connor
