Dear Team,

Thank you for your suggestions at the last meeting on Monday. Here is the revised one for your further inputs. Hope you are free at 5.30 PM on Monday, 9th Dec, I shall meet you all at Sir's office, we may want to invite other team members. Once we finalise from our end, lets approach the Library team.

Title: Knowledge-Treasure Hunt

Who will drive:

Library (Puttabasavaiah+?)

IEEE Student Branch (EXECOM)

IEEE staff (Dhanu)

Participants:

Restrict to IISc students? (all or only newly registered members in 2013 - just in case if we have to restrict the participants strength)

Objectives:

- To promote the resources available in the library

- To build the collection in the library

- To promote the availability of IEEE published content with the institute

- To promote the various features in better utilization of the IEEE Xplore platform

- To provide assistance from students on various concerns a grad student faces while trying to author a paper and overcoming the same

The Plan:

- Team to meet and discuss the plan on 9th Dec at 5 PM and finalise the plan to discuss with the Library, for inputs and finalising the date.

- IEEE student branch to build a registration form online - ?

- Broadcast on ?

- The venue will be at the entrance of the library (TBD)

- Books/Goodies to be provided by IEEE office (Library?)

- Questions to be finalised on ?. Mock questions below:

Find a specific book in the Library

Find a bound volume in the Library

Find 5 specific articles in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library

- All the registered members to attend the IEEE Xplore webinar on ? (Searching skills explained)

- 3 talks by student members on career, life at IEEE, experiences with the library.

Goodies:

1st ten winners will walk way with a book worth around Rs. 500 (Rs. 5000 from SB)

First 50 registrations will win an IEEE Tshirt

Budget:

Rs. 5000 from SB (Books)

Rs. 5000 from SB (Tea/Snacks for 150 pax)

Rs. 2000 for Momentos from SB (to Librarian/Dep Librarian)

Rs. 20000 from IEEE UPP (Tshirts)

Rs. 1000 for banner from IEEE

Dear All,

Good morning!

This is a good event to spread the information about our library in campus.

I suggest we can keep it open to students outside of IISc too. They will get some opportunity to meet and interact with our library folks too.

Our library can boast of a lot of firsts in the country. This way we can FURTHER publicize the Institute and its resources.

Dear All,

Our student branch is concerned about only of students of Welfare of IISc. I am not in favour of open to outside students. This I was clearly mentined in my previous meeting with dhanu and prof. T. Srinivas sir.

Whatever benefit we are providing from our student branch should go to our institute community only however they can come and visit the event but i am not in favour of giving gifts behalf of our branch to outsiders.
