Big thank you to drbeel for the location. Managed to find the US Bank peregrine. Took some walking and looking but it waa sitting in good light on the steel framework on top of the hotel connected to the US Cellular Center. Was able to get some photos, will post one when I get them uploaded.


Also saw two bald eagles and a red tailed hawk circling the same area. Great day, the peregrine was the first wild one that I have been able to see and confirm ID.

It is fun to go to the restaurant at the top of the hotel, sit by the window to the south and if you are lucky, watch the Peregrine hunt for their pigeon “under glass” dinner!

If anyone has sightings for the Cedar Rapids Peregrines, would you send to me so I can forward to DNR? If you would like to send reports direct to DNR, email me and I can give you the email of the DNR person. The DNR would like to verify that the Peregrines are nesting in CR and whether they fledge young.
