I compiled and made a DEB package for 64-bit Debian Buster/Testing. I
don't know if it's something that others can use?

Debian buster already has 2019.2.0 rc1 which is (on Linux) identical
to the final release except for some translations. (I have not yet
uploaded the final release because I had to finalize the libvigraimpex
transition first.)

Ah, thanks. Didn't know buster's rc1 and final release were identical.

Dear all,

I have created an AppImage package for the 2019.2.0 release:

Thanks, but I've never been able to successfully run a Flatpack or
AppImage or any other such app container on my systems. I prefer the
native packages - DEB for me, RPM in a pinch.

Hi!

Would you be willing to provide some error log regarding the AppImage? That would greatly help me to improve the compatibility...

Hi everyone,

I've been using Hugin since … ugh, 10 years from now ? I was looking for a free software to compose panoramics, and I found it.

It took me some time to master this software, but I've finally managed. Thanks to the 2012 version of Hugin, huge improvements.

My job is to stitch panoramics from Mars rovers and landers. You can find my work here : http://www.db-prods.net/marsroversimages/index.php
Many of the panoramics you would find on my website were done with Hugin. I was really good at stitching quickly pictures from Curiosity.

Until I had no obligation whatsoever to switch to the last version of Hugin. That 2019 version. For me, it's a regression. All of that complexity added to the software is ruining my efforts to be able to produce the daily panoramic from Mars I used to do. Yes, the 64bits version run smoothly on my Mac, but that's not it.

My concerns are :

• I really miss the old Optimization tab (for geometric and exposure optimizations), it was better to navigate the parameters ;
• When I want to modify exposure parameters, I have to right-click the picture from the list, click on the 3rd tab of the opened window, and then, close it. The 2012 version had all of that directly on the exposure tab of the main window. We have a lot of empty spaces on the main window here, why not using it ? We would have the parameters on the fly, just like the 2012 version ;

Capture d’écran 2020-01-15 à 11.22.25.png

• The 2012 version, the preview 'GL' window had something very useful : when hover a number corresponding to a picture, we had the picture framed by a red square. Very useful when managing a lot of pictures (I had to manage panoramics with more than a hundred pictures, without that simple feature, I would a loose my way…). That feature is not present in the 2019 version, you have to click/unclick the number to find where it is in the panoramic… Not useful ;

Just to be simple here : if there is any way to keep the 2012 version, make it 64bits so it would run on macOS Catalina, it should be great. But it would not be possible I think…

I really that 2012 version. Panoramic stitching is my work. Hugin was my loyal tool since years, I LOVE that software and I don't to switch to an other software. I just hope you would keep in mind what I said. And if there is anyway I can involved myself in the project (a better interface design, user-friendly features that understand how artists would like to work their panoramics…), just tell me :)

Keep up the excellent work !

These tabs are still there. They are only shown when the optimizer is set to custom. (Otherwise they are hidden, because in these circumstances you can't change anything on these tabs.)

Concerning the empty spaces:There is not always so much empty space, it depends on the monitor resolution. Not everybody is using such high resolution.
(Currently there are 30 parameters which can be edited. So much space is not available on the photos tab.)
As an alternative you can also edit the parameters in the optimizer/photometric optimizer tab in place.

This feature is still there: Activate "Identify" mode on the Preview tab in the OpenGL preview window. (You can activate it also by holding the command key and move the mouse.)

Yes, I know.

> As an alternative you can also edit the parameters in the optimizer/photometric optimizer tab in place.

If you meant that window, just no. Parameters are not editable here. Or I'm missing something…

Capture d’écran 2020-01-17 à 10.24.53.png

I just want to manually edit each parameter of each image without having to click 3 times to get them right. Why ? because automatic optimization of exposure/level/vignetting of the pan don't work very well with the picture I'm working with. So, I have to manually work each picture.

It works here fine. Select one image then click on the number and edit it...

The FreeBSD port has now been updated. The package will follow
shortly.

For those of us using SHA256, the details are:

SHA256 (hugin-2019.2.0.tar.bz2) = 8ba6bdfea246313f142f17f42e066c6888f51b72e4f8814b5e1c84ff56a95a3e
SIZE (hugin-2019.2.0.tar.bz2) = 10335030

You don't need to worry about this, since the port automatically
checks.

Thanks a lot for "check if still exist and delete again" temporary .tif files, when the same folder was open in another image viewer.
Will it be difficult to add "Open file location" to the batch processor right-click menu? When right clicking on a project from the task list, the folder with the project will be opened.
"Open file location" is in Windows shell, I think.
