Hot Potatoes in new Mac OS

I'm having trouble configuring HP on Catalina.  The issue seems to be Legacy Java version.  Will future updates work with newer Java?

Hi there,

Stewart has stated that there will be no further updates to the Java
version of Hot Potatoes, I'm afraid, so if Mac OS is no longer able to
run it, you'll need to find a way to run the Windows version on Mac.
There are various options for that, but Mac experts will know better
than me about that. Also note that the Windows version runs very well
under Wine on Linux (which is how I use it myself, since I'm no longer a
Windows user).
