According to the Wiki, piHPSDR is a supported software for the HL2.
Then, is it possible to use this Apache controller instead of a computer with the necessary softwares? (Apache Labs (apache-labs.com))
Did a member of this group already test such a configuration?

Many of us have built the equivalent hardware (V2 and V1) as well as simpler versions and run PiHPSDR on them.  I run one of each controller on my 2 HL2s, one drives a transverter.  I also embedded a Teensy4 keyer into my V2 controller.

It all works quite well. You can also run the other Linux sdr apps on the hardware such as Sparksdr, Quisk.

I have some posts detailing the construction and milling files for a Hammond enclosure with a V2 pcb.

Mike, thanks for your answer. I read the Apache Labs V2 manual. I eventually think it would be cheaper to buy a Pi4, a large (around 10") screen, enclosure (if choosing the standard 7" display), keyboard and mouse and load the Pi4 with Ham-pi. I could use my favourite SDR software : SparkSDR.
Other options: choose a Pi400 and maybe better choose a CrowPi L with a Pi4B-2, 4 or 8Gb (total:$408).

I wish you all the very best in "buying a Pi4". As far as I can see you
cannot get them at the moment, and this will last at least for the rest of
the year.

Christoph,

What do you think about using this Raspberry PI4  instead of the unavailable standalone PI4

The form factor doesn't lend it itself to stacking Pi-Shields or Hats, but using a short cable, a shield or Hat could be connected.

Between the two links, there are eleven available, and the kit includes a mouse.

If you watch the official Pi retailer outlets (https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-4-model-b/) closely they release small amounts of the Pi4 every month or so - or at least they do here in Germany as of a month or two ago. Have to be quick tho! If you can go a bit higher in price the retailer outlets also bundle the Pi4 with cases and keyboards and stuff and there is more often stock of these more expensive bundles available.

According to a UK News report they are prioritizing Commercial customers
for any new Pi4 stock that comes in.

The price of the Apache-Labs PiHPSDRv2 compared to a HL-2 or anything
else is eye watering so I built 2 on boards ordered from JLCPCB - Not in
pretty enclosures but 100% functionally the same and at a fraction of
the price -- not costing the hours I spent building them.
