Hi all,

I've built a mk2 controller, and I can power on the controller+RPi4 using the power button on the controller, but I cannot power down using the same.
Looking at the schematic I cannot see how the power button could do so, am i missing something?

Regards,
Jonas - SM4VEY

Hi Jonas,
I use the menu to shutdown but the PiHPSDR v2 still has power until I
press the power off button.
To power on again I have to first power down and up again using the button.

May be that's the way as it's the same on both of my units.

Hi Sid,

Thanks. So if I understand You correctly, after You have shut down the Rpi using menu->shutdown you can power it off using the power button on the controller?

For some reason, I can only power up using the button, but pressing the button while power is on has no effect.
I'm trying to understand if this is as designed or if there is something off with my build.

Regards, Jonas

Hi Jonas,
On the PiHPSDR v2 .... Menu --> Exit piHPSDR --> Shutdown
pihpsdr closes but there is still the power LED on and Ethernet port
active, also another LED  on the Pi4.

From there you can't power on.

Pressing and holding in the Power switch causes everything to power down.
After that the Power switch restores power and the Pi4 boots up.
73 ... Sid.

Thanks Sid,

As I suspected then there is something strange with my power button as I cannot power off regardless of how long I hold the controller's power button, the LED stays on. The only way for me to turn off is to remove power.
I need to look into the schematic to understand the mono-stable T1/T2 configuration in order to understand what the problem is I guess...

Regards, Jonas

Hi Jonas,
I had some problems with the PCB's I got from JLCPCB, tracks missing.
IC1 pins 15, 16 and 17 on one PCB were not connected so I had to bridge
them and wire to GND.
On another the GND was missing on the BAND- switch.

One board would not power up, looked like misrouted traces.

Others ordering later reported their PCB's were fine.
73 ... Sid.
