THIS THURSDAY JULY 9th at 7PM SHARP: Hack Your Hackerspace! This is our community forum where we vote on elections, proposals, meet face to face, make changes to the space, clean, and hang out!

On the docket this week:

Special Election: Vote for whether David Lang keeps the co-champion seat, depending on results of that, we will have a vote in the same meeting on whether Luis Montes or Rick Blake should take the seat for the remainder of the term.

• All dues-paying members of any tier are eligible to vote.

• Nominations are still open if you want to throw your hat in the ring.
• Antonio (our awesome operations officer) made an announcement regarding the format previously. TLDR: Keep it respectful, no personal attacks, lets have this thing go as smoothly as is possible.

• On a personal note, we've discussed this pretty thoroughly online and in person and its had a real community cost and fallout, lets just get through this. No need to beat a dead horse and no need for any of us on any side of the issue to seek a pound of flesh. Say your piece without hearsay and keep it factual. We all have strong feelings about this and assume what you say will be misunderstood by at least one person so try to be clear. My recommendation is to write out any statement in advance. To quote Ryan McDermott "Start with love"

Proposals Elgible to be voted on or to be discussed (time permitting and depending on the proposer)

• Remove one card-access nomination per year per cardholder restriction (Luis' proposal)

• Move HYH and Card Access rules out of bylaws (this is mine and I may just motion to discuss this week and defer vote to next HYH, time permitting)

• Card Access for Justin Dragos (only cardholders may vote on card access)

Kirk is bringing jerk chicken and paying for pizzas! (if you have any requests lmk I'll be picking the pizzas)

I also urge people to bring any projects you've been working on to show off.

This is an opportunity to meet members old and new who show up at different times and days of the week.

We are a community first and space second and without these face to face meetings its hard to get a sense for what awesomeness happens here and who you can potentially collaborate with or learn from! HYH is where the magic happens! 

Show up! Make your voice heard! Bring a Hack! Eat Snack. Hack the planet! Hack our Hackerspace!

If you want your voice heard but are unable to attend for any reason, while your vote can't be counted remotely you can share a statement with anyone you know that is going and they can read it on your behalf! Time is always allotted for people to share their thoughts or concerns on any topic.

Reminder that this HYH will be run to Robert's rules of order strictly. Here is the agenda if anyone wants to change or modify it please let me know. After discussion with the board I will chair as SMP is not able to make it, Brett is out of town, and David is under the vote of no confidence.
