To the HeatSync Labs Community,
This is a difficult and somber announcement to make. As per the HeatSync Labs bylaws a formal vote of no confidence regarding board member David Lang has been called by petition of the membership and verified by the board of directors.
We recognize that this is a sensitive and volatile matter for our community. To ensure that this process remains constructive, transparent, and fair to all parties involved, the following protocols will be strictly enforced:
Discussion Platform: To keep our physical shop floor a welcoming environment, all formal discussions regarding this matter will take place exclusively on our Google Groups forum.
Conduct and Civility: Discussions must remain civil at all times. Participants must strictly refrain from name-calling, personal attacks, or any other violations of our community standards.
Enforcement of the Code of Conduct: In the discussions surrounding this issue leading up to this point, individuals on both sides have engaged in behavior that violated the Code of Conduct and resulted in direct complaints from members. This is unacceptable. Moving forward, all future activity will be met with much stricter discipline. The board will reserve the right to lock either the current google group discussion or future discussions if they cross the line from remaining civil.
The Vote: The vote will be held on Thursday, July 9th during the regularly scheduled Hack Your Hackerspace meeting, in accordance with the Bylaws on Member-Called Special Elections.
Meeting Governance: The meeting and subsequent voting process will be held under the strictest moderation following Robert’s Rules of Order to ensure civil discourse, proper floor management, and equal opportunity to speak.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in handling this situation with the maturity, respect, and care that our makerspace community deserves.
As we get closer to the ninth we will be developing a full agenda and keeping to that agenda. I advised all interested parties to refresh yourselves on the HeatSync Bylaws as well as on Roberts Rules of Order.
