To My Fellow Harmonizers:
In my, soon to be, 80 years that The Lord has allowed me to live here on this beautiful planet, I have had the privilege and opportunity to be a part of many, different organizations; military and civilian. As different and varied as they were, there seemed to be one common thread.
Regardless of a Military Command, Church Council, Government Office, social organization, or “what have you”; the function and success of that entity was a direct reflection and consequence of leadership. I witnessed it time and time, again.
And this whole feeling came flooding over me when I read your congratulatory message, Brent! We are so Blessed to have a Director who can put up with some of the sounds that we individually produce, least of all “maybe the bases”! But it’s how patiently and delicately you correct us, that is so precious! Believe it or not, we do listen, although there are times when, I’m sure, you wonder!
All kidding aside, I too have received many congratulatory comments regarding our concert! And to have a Director who can inspire, coerce, entice, or encourage us to continue to improve, is absolutely wonderful! As one our new members told me; “Harlan, anyone who can get that quality of music out of a group of rather senior citizens, and have that much fun; it’s got to be good!”
So Thanks Brent! Thanks for your compliments, your encouragement, and your inspiration! Like it or not; we are a reflection of you!
It’s Great to be a Barhershopper!!!! Ohhhhh Yaaaaaaa!
