Has anyone found a battery bank that can supply 5A to the Raspi 5? The battery banks below are labeled "PD" and "Fast Charge," but the Pi 5 reports "This power supply is not capable of supplying 5A power to peripherals." It appears they can only source 3A. The CanaKit AC adapter at the bottom apparently sources 5A, as the Pi5 doesn't complain. I want to avoid lithium/buck converter and active hubs.

I have not, and thus am building one. The 5v5a is not part of the specification, so it’s unlikely that really any power banks will support it.

You best bet is to get a USB-PD initiator board, set it to 9V 3A (which is in the PD spec) and use any of the 5V 5A converters that have been mentioned on the mailing list before :)

Note that your USB cable also needs to be "PD".

From what I understand, if the power supply does not "talk" the PD protocol, then the Pi will assume it can only do 3A and only draw that much, while reporting that error. You can find instructions around on how to trick the Pi into drawing 5A and not reporting that error.

I agree. The 5v PD spec really is 5v and the pi wants 5.1.

Make sure the dc to dc converter can be tuned a tiny bit higher than 5v.
