Team,

With the author's permission I fed the well regarded A Gentle Introduction to ROS into Chat-GPT Claude-Sonnet-4.5 with a link to ROS2 jazzy documentation and asked it to update to ROS2 jazzy and annotate the differences.  Here is the result. I'm just now starting to read it and am no expert (which is why I'm doing this so I can learn) so, if you see any errors, bring them to my attention.  Thanks to the Author Jason O'Kane.

That’s interesting. I will certainly take a look.

On a similar note, I was having a bit of trouble with the URDF and Rviz. I asked ChatGPT and it kept me going in circles. I switched to Claude and it solved the issue in a couple of minutes.

I should point out that Claude 4.6 i a vast improvement over 4.5. My shouting has gone way, way down. It still isn’t the best at architecture, but it now far surpasses Gemini at debugging and it still, IMNSHO the best by far in everyday coding. I’m doing some coding and design of some fairly complex stuff and it’s been a solid helper this time around.

I should put a sign up in my cave: "Never EVER ask AI to debug!"  stingray_sim.launch.py joystick failed to move the robot.  Both Claude and Grok Code Fast 1 led me in circles and never solved the problem.  I just restored from github and shelved it to start reading "A Gentle Introduction to ROS2 Annotated".  I'm already finding errors, particularly images, but a few others which I'll add to DropBox later.

That's good to know. I am going through the new Mockbot book and attempting to replicate Camp's robot. I am finding that Claude is a lot of help when I need to fill in some of the "you should already know" kind of things in the instructions.
