Hello ULoopers,

Paul and I were recently lamenting the absence of a 2022 ULoop Summer Solstice party and would like to respectfully propose a post loop potluck shindig on Wednesday, August 31st. 8/31 is apparently Malaysian Independence Day, National Diatomaceous Earth Day, Caligula’s Birthday, National Eat Outside Day, International Whiskey Day and
National Trail Mix Day. Shall we acknowledge one or all of these auspicious occasions with a run, dip, snacks, caffeine and booze?

Anyone? I will bake something.

Oh wow, I'm going to miss Caligula's birthday again?! Rats!

I'm glad to learn, though, that you Uloopers are still thick as thieves. I've been plagued by injuries ever since January, so even if I were in Austin, I might not be out there as regularly as I would like. Just today I spent the day in a foul mood because having ventured a mild, 8km run yesterday, my knee was really acting up today, which was not the plan. I went to get it massaged late this afternoon and that seems to have done a lot of good, though. And just knowing that it is clearly a problem with the adductor muscle makes me feel like I have a better handle on the problem.

I have only one month left in Aarhus, which is another reason I wasn't feeling cheery today. It's a lovely city and I'll be terribly sorry to leave. I spend the rest of the fall in Stockholm, though, so it's not all bad. I fly back to Austin on January 2 and will hope to be out there for the Uloop again soon after.

If I can get over all these running problems, I plan on running the Uppsala Marathon on October 30. Wish me luck!
