Guzzi Threading

New users often ask about Guzzi left/right threading when they confront
a stuck bolt or nut. To my knowledge, there are only TWO locations on a
Guzzi single where the thread design is 'reversed' or 'backwards' or
'left-handed'. Destrorso. Turn clockwise or to the right to remove.
(My experience is 500cc single. The smaller engines and two-strokes
might differ.

First, the locking ring for the flywheel main bolt.
It uses a backwards thread so that it is in energy opposition to the
main bolt itself. If the bolt should try to loosen it would impact the
ring and force it tighter. The concept is useful so that the two part
work together as a built-in gear puller to pop the flywheel off of the
crankshaft taper.

Second, the hollow 'manicotto' tube which carries the knurled hand wheel
for the clutch spring tension adjustment.

If anyone knows of some other obscure location such as brakes, magneto
innards, etc. I'd like to hear about it.

Those are the only two locations where I have encountered left hand threads on my 'slicers.
