I was just looking at a clamshell container a family member brought
home and rather than seeing a recycling triangle or number marking on
it, it has a statement on it that says "Made with 40% Natural
Mineral." A quick search seems to say that these are (mostly?)
polypropylene containers 'filled' or mixed with "natural mineral" ...
but I don't really see a lot of data out there explaining just what
'mineral' is used. I do see some things that claim they're recyclable,
but once again, the details I could find on this is really excessively
vague.
Might any of you know more about these containers?
Thanks

We see them regularly- I think the mineral is talc but I could be wrong. I have heard from our end market that they hate these container - the minerals makes them heavy so they sink with the rest of the trash and don’t actually get recycled
