Hi Bernard,

Are you sure you are running it on a Raspberry PI 2?
Sorry for the silly question but that's the only reason I can think of
why you would get this message.

Hi Alex,

my mistake: indeed  it is a Raspberry PI 1 B+ !

What do you recommend  : a PI2 or a PI3 ?

Thank you very much

The choice is yours but if you're going to buy a new Raspberry Pi, read the "Device Support" section in http://gqrx.dk/download/gqrx-sdr-for-the-raspberry-pi .  To me, it's obvious that the Rpi v3 (which costs the same as a Rpi v2), is the better solution.

Yes, I agree with David. If you have to buy one, you may as well get the model 3 :-)

I think what I would do is  research error " 2050 Illegal Instruction ".  Find out what it means and where your aree erroring at. do you have what it means . Raspberry PI is a new dog in town. Runnig gqrx on that platform is research,  and trial and error.  RTFM

Yes I understand you are getting the 2050 error but there should be information on the error itself.  Why are you getting that error. What does it mean as an error. Yes that command on that line is giving you an error but what  does the error mean in Raspberry terms. The error must be understood before any of us can try to answer.  Is it a call to a program from a program or are you trying to call a function  stored.? error 2050 means something what is it?

Somebody get me out of trouble here. Its a call to a program from a program on raspberry pi. Can that be done. I have never tried doing that.  :)

Hello Triad,

At first guess, I imagine you're attempting to run the wrong binaries on your Raspberry Pi.  Which specific version of the Raspberry Pi are you using?  You should ONLY be using a Raspberry Pi v2 or v3 with four ARM cores.  The binaries posted are optimized for those specific ARM cores and Gqrx/GnuRadio/etc needs all that performance to run properl.  Next, which specific version of Gqrx did you download?  Please give the URL so we can confirm it's the correct version.
