Hi to all,
I use gqrx + FunCubeDongle to receive weather fax from Northwood
(8040kHz) and record the audio output which I then play back into hamfax
(version 0.8 in Debian 8). It works well with an audio filter width of
3.5 to 4kHz and the FFT size 4096.
If I try to hardwire loop the audio line out of gqrx into the audio line
in such that hamfax "listen to it" in real time then I see artifacts due
to variable delays introduced probably by the CPU working harder than if
gqrx is running without hamfax.

I wonder if anyone has integrated a fax decoder with gqrx to decode in
real time, if so which one and how?

Ho Robert,

Fldigi can also receive WEFAX (plus many other digital formats). It
can use the pulseaudio asinput which mean that you can route the audio
output of gqrx to the input of fldigi using the pulseaudio volume
control application (i.e. no cable necessary).

I just tried it using a websdr running in the browser and it worked
quite well. See attached screenshot, not bad for a first try :-)

Hi Alex,
fldigi looks good, but I am unable to stream from gqrx to fldigi without external cable loop from "line out > line in"!
I have pulse audio installed on my PC but what should I do to gqrx and flidigi to use it?
I must say I am not good with sound card management!

Hi Robert,

I have used the instructions at this URL to achieve this in the past: https://www.kirsle.net/blog/entry/redirect-audio-out-to-mic-in--linux-

Thanks Simon,
that link was most usefull as I found that the pulseaudio levels were set very low hence it did not transfert much from gqrx to fldigi! Now I can pick up wefaxes and ham's CW (too old to decode it myself!)
