ADA compliance for recordings

Good Morning.

I was asked about posting the audio recordings of meetings.

Do any of your municipalities post meeting recordings?

If so, how do you handle the transcripts, which I believe are required for ADA compliance?

We don't post transcripts.

We post a plain mp3, and we post a YouTube with audio.
The YouTube captioning works pretty well with Zoom meetings where the audio is very clear.

It works very poorly with in person meetings where the audio quality is much lower.

yeah we also don't post transcripts (sigh). and we ALSO don't have video posted. in fact, the only reason why there was video at all this year was because of the pandemic, and meetings being held remotely :(

We don't post the audio recordings but we have them available for OPRAs. We did use to post video pre-pandemic and we didn't transcribe per-say but our meeting minutes are verbatim. (I think Youtube did auto-generate captions over the videos) Now that we are doing meetings via Zoom, we haven't been posting - not really sure why but it's not my call.

we don't post video but our clerk to the board office do post minutes of the meetings....
