python sql prompt > show databases doesnt work?

show databases doesnt seem to work in the python sql prompt. anyone have any ideas to why, or how else to see your databases?

sql> show databases;
ERROR:google_sql:Unknown argument(s) to command ".show": databases

Running cloud sql sdk for python version 0.9.10
