If I try to copy a long JSON response for a particular request/response line, then I find my clipboard doesn't contain the entire content - it's malformed when I try to pretty-print it.

I'm referring to Network tab -> choose a line -> Response sub-tab.

I assume this is some memory-saving measure - can I turn it off or increase it so that it will always store the whole response body content?

Please file a bug at crbug.com!

I'm having the same issue.  I need to have the full text of a response, but I can't get it from Chrome.  Firebug on Firefox handles it just fine.

You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

Thank you.

I cannot locate a bug in crbug.com which looks like this error where JSON is truncated.
If someone has found the bug in crbug.com please share link here as I still get this error and would like to make Google fix this problem.

If you cannot find it, probably no one filed it. You are welcome to file it on your own and share a link to it so others could star it.
