Since Google left us out in the cold by pulling away services that we relied on them for, does anyone have a suggestion how to get similar free service else where? I was using the blog, photos, news, and videos API's that a google graciously offered. I made the mistake of thinking they cared about small companies and would not pull the service out from under us. No I am stuck with hundreds of broken pages. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Page example: http://www.apparelsearch.com/Fashion/Designer/Name/C/Calvin_Klein/Calvin_Klein_fashion_designer_news_photos_video.htm

So, a couple of thoughts for you. First, your page is throwing its own JS errors (axs is not defined). Second, there are a number of errors being thrown within the Search API, but with all the errors in your own code, it's tough for me to isolate the cause of that issue. (It may not be Google's issue at all.)

That said, as has been announced on the official Google Code blog and numerous times in this forum, the AJAX APIs which you are using have been officially deprecated since 2011. In fact, we're now past the official sunset date on a couple of them which were deprecated in late 2010, and you can expect the entire ball of wax to be shut down no later than May 2014. It would seem prudent to establish a migration (or sunset) plan for any features of your site which are dependent on them. There are a number of alternatives out there for you to consider:

Web Search: Google's Custom Search API, Yahoo! BOSS API ( http://developer.yahoo.com/boss/search/ ), Bing Search API ( http://datamarket.azure.com/dataset/bing/search )

Image Search: Google's Custom Search API, Yahoo! BOSS API

Blog Search: Yahoo! BOSS API (though it's experimental)

News: Google Feeds API + Google News (It's kind of a cheat, but it's doable)

Videos: YouTube Data API ( https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/ )

You will notice that each of the Google Custom Search, Yahoo! and Bing/Microsoft offerings have a traffic threshold beyond which they become paid services, and the YouTube Data API has a traffic quota. You will also find that each of these options has its own strengths and weaknesses. None of them will fully replace all of the different services you were using. You will have to determine the best course forward for your site.

JG - Thank you very much for your reply.  Regarding the JS errors you may see, I had not made any changes directly to the code.  Although I could be wrong, I think it would be on Google’s side because I had not touched the code on my end.  The pages had worked in the past and then had stopped.  I did however recently add Google Analytics to my pages.  Possibly that has caused a problem.  Also, I added facebook, and G+, buttons but am pretty sure I did not touch the API code section of the pages.

Thank you for the suggested resources that you provided.  I may try them but I am now thinking it may not be a good idea for me to rely on any other company for data.  Apparently what is given can easily be taken away.  I always thought and hoped that once google offered a service they would continue to do so.  It would take me half a lifetime to re-work each of my pages.  Unfortunately, I am “not” efficient and build one page at a time.  Reworking them could really take me a year at least.  Again, thanks for your suggestions.  It was kind of you to offer the suggestions you provided.
