JQuery AJAX Response Gzip

Hi,

I am using AJAX Calls from HTML pages to get some data from server and display in the html pages. the response contains html and javascript.

response is json. 

How do I get the response compressed. 

If I check in fiddler, the Transformer tab is showing "no compression"

Please advice.

From what you've written, I'm thinking you're talking about standard AJAX communication with your own server. This group is really dedicated to the Google AJAX APIs, which are a specific application of AJAX.

That said, how you compress the response will vary depending on your specific server. For instance, in Apache, you simply install and enable mod_gzip. The module will automatically detect what sort of compression (if any) the browser can handle and then compress the response accordingly.
