Hi, I want to use the NewsShow api, but i want to change the css to fit the layout of my website. Apparently, this is not allowed.

I found out that setting classes like .gns-root, .gns-ss-frame,.gns-ss-title etc. , you can change the look of the NewsShow api. But, when I use those classes, the "powered by google" image dissapears.

So i dont know if changing the css of the NewsShow its allowed or not. There should be more clarity about this subject.

Well, I don't think there is anything that prohibits using the NewsShow and/or customizing the CSS for your site, but you will need to make sure that "powered by..." bit reappears, either in image form or in text somewhere. You'll also want to be aware that the News Search API which underlies the NewsShow has been deprecated and will be discontinued no later than May 2014 (now less than one year away). So regardless of what you MAY do, it might not be the greatest idea to deploy the NewsShow or any related app to a mission-critical application.

Hi Jg,

Thanks for answering so fast. I managed to change only the font properties, and the "powered by google" image reappeared.

What exactly will happen in may of 2004? the api will disappear, or it will be updated?

The News Search API underlying the NewsShow will be discontinued no later than the end of May. There has been no word on whether or not there will be a replacement.
