What a wonderful arrangement.  Many thanks for sharing this and posting photos.

Is it made from painted wood?  Do you have vents for air circulation at the bottom and top?

Dear Dx G
Having a vent at the top means that you are constantly losing hot air and the associated heat along with it . I thought the purpose of a hot house was to contain heat!

Avents at bottom are good as you are expelling g the cold air accumulated at the bottom.
Regards

Ashok

Ashok,
An enclosed space in the sun, especially with a light permeable
exterior, can quickly reach over 100F, especially under high light
intensity, even in winter. Same reason you don't want to lock a pet
or a child in a car in the hot sun to "just run in the store" for a
few minutes. In fact, it can be so extreme that even with powered
venting, a lot of greenhouses use "shading compound", an opaque
temporary paint that sticks to the exterior, or use various white and
mylar shade cloths. Unshaded enclosures with clear exteriors make
great solar dryers, but even those need to be managed to prevent
cooking the material instead of just drying it. Normally venting
regulates the temperature, drawing cool air from lower down, expelling
hot air out the top, much like a soffit/ridge system used to ventilate
attics. Typically the vents are thermostatically controlled to
maintain a set temperature. Unlike some people who generally believe
"if a little is good, more is better", this is not the case with heat
from "the greenhouse affect". Typically all this is taught in
greenhouse management training, as much of it is not intuitive to
everyone. In a lot of domes, the cupola windows provide an excellent
temperature control option.
