Hi

After about version 5, Gecode was only distributed in 64bit versions. Was there a reason for this? Has any one compiled the source code in 32bit for version 6+? Is that possible?

Thanks
Craig

Hi,

Mostly it was just no significant reason to create 32-bit versions
anymore, AFAIK. I think it should still be possible, but I'm actually
not sure at the moment. Try it, and see how it goes.

Any specific reason that you are interested in building for 32 bits?

Cheers,
Mikael

to Gecode
Hi,

we have an asp.net website  and windows service with some c++ (incl gecode 5.x) that they rely on.

at the moment its all 32 bit. we want to migrate it all to 64bit. but we have it installed with many clients that are upgraded via a wix installer. migration from 32bit > 64 looks like it will be fun to say the least. (or an uninstall and reinstall)

i would like to get on to the latest version of gecode, but dont want to go thru the migration to 64bit just right now (time and resource are a limiting factor).

Thanks for your speedy reply

Craig

Interesting to hear, and I get the reasoning. I can only say good luck
and hope compiling works still for 32-bit, I don't think it has been
tested recently.

If you run into troubles, please feel free to share them and maybe
somebody can help with it.

Cheers,
Mikael
