Hi,

I just upgraded my Samsung C410W printer to the latest firmware (V3.00.02.07_ 0401040_1.01 MAY-12-2014) which is supposed to fix the GCP problem with it not going online.

I can go through the registration process in the Samsung SyncThru web service interface. If I test the connection, everything looks fine. Registering brings up the Google popup and I click on the button to finish the registration.

Now I see the printer in the Google Cloud Print list, but it appears offline and never goes online. In the SyncThru GCP page, I get the error message below. I have tried again after a waiting period a couple of times.

Any pointers in any direction? I'd be grateful for more ideas, since waiting for the firmware update didn't work.

Thanks,

Mattias

I am experiencing this same exact thing on a samsung M2825-DW (fw version V3.00.01.25 SEP-30-2014). Nothing I try can possibly reset the GCP status, and the JSON is returning the following for the page:

{
GSI_PRINTER_NAME: "Laser Printer",
GSI_PRINTER_DESC: "Laser Printer in the Server Room",
GXI_CLAIM_URL: "",
GXI_LOGIN_STATUS: 1,

GXI_USERMAIL_FLAG: 0,
GXI_USER_MAIL: "",
GSI_ENABLE_PROXY: 0,
GSI_PROXY_IP: "",
GSI_PROXY_PORT: 3129
}

OP, did you find a resolution to this issue?

Actually no, I gave up and still have the same problem.

Seeing that your log suggests login failure, it just struck me that I use two-factor authentication and that might give login problems. Do you use two-factor as well?

I am pretty sure this is a global issue. I am having trouble with three Dell b2375dfw printers as well.

Interesting! I have the same problem with a CLX-6260ND I bought a week ago. It worked fine with old firmware (January 2014) for about five days, then suddenly failed.

I have tried all kinds of things, eventually found new firmware of August 2014 and have just installed it. Now I also get the error message "Incomplete response received from server" when trying to "DeRegister" the printer that I had already deleted in the Google Cloud Print printer management.

Anybody else having this problem since yesterday, 2015-01-16? That would mean some new hope.

I've also had this problem since yesterday with our new Samsung m2835dw.  We also use two-factor auth.  Cannot "DeRegister".  Says "Fail with Error. Please try again after few minutes." It was working fine until yesterday.  I tried upgrading the firmware (the firmware was already up-to-date) but this did not help.  I could probably factory restore the printer, but since I am troubleshooting remotely, this is not an option.

Same exact error with the Xpress M2675FD. That was a first time setup, unboxed the printer and while setting up Google Cloud Print a few hours ago, initially went through as expected, but reached the same error. Deleting the printer from the Google Cloud Print list, or doing a DeRegister/Abort is not helping. I tried as well to upgrade to the latest firmware (printer came with a June 2014 firmware, and installed the October 2014 version) did not help either.

Based on what everybody is reporting here, there seems to be something acting up on the Google or Samsung server side.

Hi,

Problem confirmed.

I bought a Samsung M2022W today. Getting it attached to Google cloud print the first time was easy, but every document printed from my Android devices ended up in the Google cloud print queue and did not print. As I did not have the latest printer firmware I guessed that this was worth a shot. This did not help. And after trying to do all steps again to register the printer I can not deregister the printer in Samsung SuncThru. So I´m stuck (as I deleted it in Google cloud print) and there does not seem to be a "factory reset" for the printer. Just wait until Google/Samsung fixes this I guess?

Error is:
"Registration is processing. Please push the "Finish printer registration" on pop-up window.
Fail with Error. Please try again after few minutes.

I've had the same problem with a new Samsung Xpress C460FW multifunction color laser. Printing via USB and wirelessly via iOS works fine.

I set up the printer via GCP but jobs went to the queue and never printed. So I then deleted the printer and tried to add it again, which must have been a mistake because I keep getting the same error everyone else is getting:

Registration is processing. Please push the "Finish printer registration" on pop-up window.
Fail with Error. Please try again after few minutes.

I online chatted with a Samsung rep. last night and they weren't able to solve my problems because their final suggestion (after having me reset my wireless router) was to upgrade the printer's firmware, which cannot be done from an Apple computer. (I don't have a Windows computer, just an iMac and Chromebook)

FYI: My printer's firmware is
Main Firmware Version
V3.00.02.13 OCT-01-2014
Network Firmware Version
V6.01.00

Same problem here, with a samsung scx-3405w though. Do not know the exact date, last sucessfull print job was around January 12, since last friday 16 the printer is off-line and deregistering is impossible. Errors 93 and 71.

If you get these negative-number error messages, then you still have an
old-style firmware on your printer.

On my printer I found new firmware on Samsung's page about that
particular printer. You can google for this text:

SCX-3405W site:samsung.com

Then select the page for your area and scroll down on the page until you
find driver downloads and more or less at the bottom of the page your
latest firmware.

Download it, unpack the ZIP file, and locate the *.hd file. That's the one.

Open the SyncThru web service in a Web browser, log on, click on
Maintenance, click on Firmware Upgrade, and upload the .hd file to your
printer.

In my case all settings remained intact, so the firmware upgrade was
entirely painless. I recommend it. The software also checks the validity
of the firmware file before uploading it to the printer.

I forgot to mention that the firmware upgrade is more a hygienic measure
than a fix. It will not solve the current Google Cloud Print problem,
which can be fixed only by Google fixing their Cloud Print or by Samsung
delivering yet another round of firmware upgrades. There is reason to
hope for the former.

Same problem for me with a M2070FW. I am unsure if it ever worked, but I think I did try to print something when I first registered with Google Cloud Print. Can't really remember though.

Installed the October firmware update and as I didn't remember if I ever verified I tried again after the firmware update and now it surely doesn't work.

Deregistering and registering in SyncThru is a bit flaky. I have removed the printer from Google Cloud Print and then tried to de-register. It doesn't "stick" at once. But after restarting the printer it usually works (but sometimes not) and it says the printer is not registered again. And when registering sometimes you get stuck with 'Registration is processing. Please push the "Finish printer registration" on pop-up window.' but for now it actually looks like this:

Printer is Registered. To Deregister the Printer or to Abort the further process press the DeRegister Button
Fail with Error. Please try again after few minutes.

So I have been installing and uninstalling a number of times, renaming the printer in the Google Cloud Print settings, etc. All to no avail.

So ,y printer shows up as online on the Google Cloud Print site but the printer job gets stuck in the job queue.

Thanks,

Kai

Yes, known and meanwhile predictable, see preceding emails at:

https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/gcp-developers/6777813c-8cee-42ba-b68e-cfa5a850dfee%40googlegroups.com

But if you managed to register your printer since Friday 2015-01-16,
then you seem to be luckier than everybody else here who posted till then.

I believe we can only wait for Google to fix their Cloud Print, unless
somebody here has a channel into Google where messages are actually read.

I have a C410W and out of the box, registered Google Cloud print fine.  However, I added it to the wrong account so I deleted it, and when I went to start over I am getting the same error as everyone else.   I even upgraded the firmware to V3.00.02.16 DEC-18-2014,   still nothing.

I've added it from Chrome as a 'non cloud print printer' but this is not why I purchased this thing - and pretty sure it's a Google issue.

I've updated my firmware too but still the same problem. Registration is fine but the printer never goes online.

No Samsung rep here I guess? Since the printer is marketed with GCP as a prominent feature you'd think that Samsung would be interested to get it working.

Once you have done it, please report here whether it solved the problem. I doubt that it will, because the current belief tends more to Google Cloud Print malfunctioning, but knowing is better than believing.

As of the writing of my post, Jan 18.   I've updated to current firmware, I've done a factory reset...   still get the registration error.
I've tried flushing cashes, clearing browser histories...  everything short of trying to connect the printer to a different ISP.

It was successful the -first- time I set it up, but I think deleting the printer from Cloud Print may have contributed to the issue.   I think trying to 'un-register' a printer that is no longer there is causing the Samsung firmware to lose it's mind.  But, I can only guess.

Thanks for reporting! Now we know that all measures that have been
mentioned here, including resetting the whole printer, do not solve
the problem.

The thought has occurred to me to, that we have a particular problem
after removing the printer from Google Cloud Print without the printer
"knowing". But then everybody here has reported that they suddenly
could not print in the first place and they still cannot print. Some,
including me, have deleted the printer in Google Cloud Print only
after already seeing the defect, and I think not everybody has done it.

So for the time being my conclusion has to remain that Google Cloud
Print is currently generally malfunctioning either for various types
of Samsung printers, even with new firmware, or for everybody.

Those must have been different issues. Now we seem to be facing the
simple situation that Google Cloud Print has broken down. It seems
likely that it is not the printers' fault, because they all worked
fine and suddenly failed to work on Friday 2015-01-16.

Of course it is possible that all printers have the same faulty
implementation, and a change on the Google Cloud Print servers merely
brought it to the surface. But that is idle speculation---we cannot
know.

My hope is that a few people at Google use the same printers we use
and also use Google Cloud Print. They will likely experience the same
problem and hopefully do something about it. If you know someone at
Google, give them a call. (:-)

Same issues and error messages here with Samsung SCX-3405FW when using Google Cloudprint.  It was working fine until Jan16 and suddenly my printer is offline.  I cannot de-register the printer.  Chatted with Samsung support.  They confirmed the issue is definitely with Google, not Samsung.  Well lets hope someone at Google is reading this.

Hello,

Same problem with a M2528DW that I bought mid-2014. Google cloudprint worked, then broken, then Samsung fixed the problem, now just stopped working again. I am, like others, stuck being unable to deregister the device in the SyncThru interface having removed it from Google Cloud Print to try to get it working again.

Very frustrated... again...

I really do not have anything to add other than to say you all are not alone. After working flawlessly four days ago, I have spent the past 3 hours today chatting with various Samsung members who all seem to be just as stumped as us, and all refer me to contact Google. Easier said than done I suppose. Thank you all for posting, at the very least I know there is no easy fix and I can move on with my day without feeling absolute defeat.

But if you managed to register your printer since Friday 2015-01-16,
then you seem to be luckier than everybody else here who posted till then.

I believe we can only wait for Google to fix their Cloud Print, unless
somebody here has a channel into Google where messages are actually read.

Regarding deregistering I have noticed that you can get the printer to deregister if you first remove the printer from Google cloud and then pressing the deregister button in the printer web interface, and then reboot the printer seeing the red error message has disappeared, and then pressing deregister again. Sometimes this works, but not always.

Then registering again makes it say the printer is indeed registered but you have the red error message. When you reboot you get again the message that you are not entirely registered...

I set my printer up exactly on January 16, quite a coincidence and bad timing.

Anyway let's wait for Google to report back on the matter!

Same problem with my Samsung M2070.  What is interesting though is when I use login to the SyncThru Service, go to the Information tab, then to Print Information at the bottom, check off Demo Page-I get it to print the demo page without a problem.

Thanks,

My time is running out to return the printer, so I had to make a
decision. I have thought about what I have read here and have made up
my mind. Let me explain, perhaps these thoughts are useful to others
as well.

My impression is that we are experiencing two different defects, which
may or may not be tightly related.

Problem 1 is that our printers don't print. Google Cloud Print cannot
reach them. I still have no clue whether only Samsung or all printers
worldwide are affected. Perhaps Samsung uses the same code in all
their printers, and there is a defect in that code, which prevents
them from communicating with Google Cloud Print after Google has made
some kind of protocol change on Friday 2015-01-16. That would be a
possible explanation why only Samsung printers are affected, but, as I
said, we don't know whether only Samsung printers are affected.

Problem 2 is that printer deregistration does not work from the
printer, particularly after the printer has been deleted directly in
Google Cloud Print.

My expectation is that problem 1 will have to be solved relatively
quickly. Even if it is Samsung's fault, I guess that Google would roll
back their recent change, because otherwise Google's Chromebooks lose
all printing capability, at least if their owners use a Samsung printer.

As to problem 2, if initial printer registration does not work,
something will also have to be done very quickly, otherwise Samsung
will get a lot of printers returned when they don't work on
Chromebooks or other devices.

However, if only the de-registration and re-registration problems
cannot be solved, then a workaround would be to reset the printer to
factory state, then do an initial registration, assuming that a total
reset to factory status is possible. I already know that resetting
only the network settings does not reset the Google Cloud Print status
in the printer, so something more radical is required. Somebody
mentioned that instructions are available.

All in all I expect that my printer will work with Google Cloud Print
in a relatively short time, perhaps only days or up to a month,
possibly requiring a total factory reset. I can live with that.

Of course I cannot be sure. Never underestimate the incompetence of
contemporary large companies, which are often led by technically
clueless managers who don't listen to their subordinates, no matter
how competent they are. But I can only make my decision on a
best-guess basis, and, for the time being, I remain moderately
optimistic.

Not a big surprise, really, as the current assumption is not that the printer is generally defective. For example, my printer prints perfectly well from any Windows computer in the local network that has any suitable printer driver installed. So it is no surprise that the printer can print its own test page.

The problem is only that Google Cloud Print does not work. Everything else works fine.

I know. But there is no Google Cloud Print issue tracker. Chrome is
the closest, particularly since Chromebooks need Cloud Print for any
printing, as far as I know.

You must be one of the lucky ones.   I did this 4 times (including the manual ip setup) and still stuck with "Fail with error"   Registration processing.

I'm gonna try another reset/firmware flash and change the printers IP.  See if that does anything....

This applies to Samsung C410W printer... updated Firmware from 2.09 to 2.16 finally got a hold of a good Samsung tech -- he remotely installed firmware and we setup cloud print.

Update the firmware to reset the printer settings and allowed printer to be registered..

1st DO NOT USE the maintenance UPDATE WIZARD in Syncthru, will result in "Invalid Firmware" error.

Instead download the firmware directly from Samsung (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SL-C410W/XAA -- go down to downloads and click "See more+")

There will be a ZIP file BELOW (for pcs):Firmware File (Firmware) ver.V3.xx.02.16 - Win XP/2003/2008/2012/Vista/Win 7/Win 8/Win 8.1(32,64bit) (MULTI LANGUAGE, 22.41 MB) Dec 23, 2014

Close all browsers etc. -- printer MUST be connect via USB, then click on file "C410W_V3.00.02.16.exe" [OBSERVE all precautions].

When finished printer will be updated to the new version.  Check this in SyncThru click on Maintenance / Firmware.

Now return to Network Settings.  -- At this point the tech changed the following:

Go to Network Settings, on Left Menu TCP/IPv4 -->  Change to "Manually" and insert the IP address (the one in the address bar to access your SyncThru) and leave the rest alone.

Click Apply.  Now on left menu go down to cloud print and retry installation per (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/faq/FAQ00073224/108927/SL-C410W/XAA) --
be sure your browser has pop-ups enabled for website.

The new PRINTER-LINK address should appear.  Click on it to finish.. takes a little while to register at Google Cloud print.

Not sure if you need a google email address, but figure that anyone reading this has already installed Cloud print once, this is just to instructions to wipe and update firmware on printer and allow for replacement installation..

yay, thanks Samsung.   Hadn't boxed up the printer yet, thought I'd give it ONE more TRY.

I have successfully re-registered my printer (C410W) to Google Cloud Print!   Woo hoo!!!

Changing IP address didn't accomplish anything.   Here's what I did, and maybe this will help someone.

In my router, I have my DNS settings set to GOOGLE'S DNS servers, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.   I also have the router set to force client's to use those settings.    Well, I changed this back to using my ISP's DNS servers, and cleared the option to force my DNS..   rebooted the router, rebooted the printer and low and behold...    IT SAID IT WAS UNREGISTERED!

Now...   I am hoping this wasn't just a fluke but maybe someone else out there can play around with their DNS settings and see if they can re-create my good fortune!

It registered again (finally), but back to the OFFLINE issue.    I even have the thing on a DMZ so I know it isn't a firewall issue.   Just tried unregistering it again and back to ground zero.

I think we're at Google's mercy here.

Thanks ?Samsung ?Google at last.

Hope it's working now for others too.

Obviously Google has solved the problem yesterday.

Now I am curious whether it was, in fact, Google's fault. It looked
more like an error on Samsung's side, because all other printers were
not affected (except some Dell printers, apparently made by Samsung).
Of course, Google could still have worked around the defect, even if
it was not their fault, because all the Chromebooks with a Samsung
printer were suddenly grounded on 2015-01-16, which must have been
somewhat painful for Google.

Eventually we will have a much better guess, because if it was
Samsung's fault, then we will see new firmware for all Samsung
printers within very few months, and if it was Google's fault, then
there will be no such new firmware release wave from Samsung. But if
anybody already knows it today, please satisfy my curiosity.

And here is the answer to my question (below). Google has installed a temporary fix on their servers until Samsung fixes their printers. That requires firmware upgrades to all "cloud-ready" Samsung printers.

So expect a firmware update relatively soon, I guess within very few months, and install it when you get it. If you don't, your printer will again fail when Google removes the temporary fix.

And that will be the happy end of the story. Thanks, Google.
