Jun,

Thanks for doing the update. We rely on your ganeti packages heavily.

One question: What are the python3 requirements for ganeti 3.1? On EL 8, python 3.6 is the default 'python3' version. But, on EL 9, python 3.9 is the default.

Hi Lance,

Thank you for your message and for providing the DNF repository mirror.
If possible, I’m also looking forward to an RPM release of ganeti-instance-image for EL10!

Hi John,

Thank you for using the Ganeti RPMs.
The following combinations are required (the versions in parentheses indicate the latest ones).
When attempting to install the Ganeti RPMs, these dependencies will be installed automatically.

EL 8 + python3 (python36-3.6.8-39.module+el8.10.0+90473+c30184f9.x86_64)
EL 9 + python3 (python3-3.9.21-2.el9_6.2.x86_64)
EL 10 + python3 (python3-3.12.9-2.el10_0.3.x86_64)

Excellent point. It looks as though EL9 and EL10 removed the 'dump' package [1]. It still works on EL9 due to the fact that dump is still included in EPEL, however that is no longer the case on EL10.

I think based on the reason for RHEL removing it, it might be a good idea to just remove the dump/restore feature of ganeti-instance-image. We no longer use it and qemu-img images are better anyway.

I'll work on getting a new release out soon to support that.

If anyone else is using dump/restore, please let me know. I could just include an older version of the package in our repo if it's still needed.
