Where are generated documents / output?

It is extremely frustrating that nothing in the manual seems to give any indication on how to get the generated PDF and MIDI files that Frescobaldi produces.

Can I set the path that these will be placed?   Is there any way at all to get Frescobaldi to write them to a specific location?

Go to Edit -> Preferences, click the General tab on the left, click
the Saving tab under Sessions and File, and enter a default directory.

You can also control where LilyPond puts the files on a case by case
basis, which I can show you if you're interested.
