Hello all,
I'm coming along on my little cargo/dog bike. It's got a front rack integrated to the frame and I hope to be able to take my little chihuahua with me. I'm considering putting a double kickstand (aka center stand in the MC world). Any opinions on these in general and recommendations for brands?
Thanks,
Cliff McLeroy, Watkinsville Ga.

I made a stainless utility bike for my wife 12 years ago - it can take a big front Brompton bag or a child seat.  The Pletscher twin leg centre kickstand has taken a lot of abuse but still works. It can cause the front wheel to flop over if it's unloaded, which is annoying, but we can live with it. Perhaps I'll go the steering centring springs route in the future.

The standard Pletscher braze-on isn't stiff/strong enough, braze a big
washer around the bolthole or roll your own. Don't be tempted to use the
clamp on the tube style, it will squash any tube

Thanks for the replies. I definitely want to prep the frame with some sort of kickstand plate. I have done one before with a piece of heavy (3.2mm) stainless "L" section, with the L pointing down to eliminate the chance of the stand rotating. Works really well with the regular Greenfield stand. Sounds like I can't go wrong with the Pletscher, but I've also seen some good reviews on the Ursus, which flips up on both sides. Seems like it would get tangled with the chain, but haven't seen that complaint.

Thanks, Cliff
