And an explanation for why Spanish would work for you and not Arabic might be that in your project, Spanish is set to use a different font than Arabic is, and the font that is set for Spanish happens to have those codepoints in it.
Try Format/Set Up Writing Systems. Then select Arabic and click Modify. Then go to the Font tab. See what font is set. (It may be the case that it is trying to use a font that you don’t have installed. In that case, it would have “Missing: “ prepended to the name of the font it is trying to use.) As Jeff said, try Times New Roman or Arial or a font designed for Arabic, or download Scheherazade or Lateef from

You could do the same thing just to see what font is set for Spanish or English or any other writing system you have.
