Hello Fishers IOD Teams,
We need to conduct some business of all voting to amend a few things
in our sailing Instructions. As mentioned in our last meeting the
world class has increased the number of qualifying races from 4 to 8
races minimum in a qualifying series . This is a good change to have
as it makes more fleets have more races rather than just a few. Here
at Fishers over the past few years we have had as many as 13 and last
year we had 11. That being said ,it makes sense for our fleet to build
in a guard rail to make sure we get the minimum (8races). I would like
to extend our qualifying into August ONLY if we did not get the
minimum numbers of races completed in July. I don't think we will need
to do this however we should amend our sailing instructions to allow
this if need be to ensure a legitimate qualifying series.
Our July series will start on July 8,15,22,and 29th of July.. We are
trying to have a rebirth of the June series and it was decided to use
June 24th and July 1 as our June series. This will give teams a little
extra time to get sorted and also gives us the best chance of having
all our boats on the line for our July series. However I hope that you
all can get your boats in early to get some practice on the 24th and
the 1st. We will be having the normal July 4th race on Tuesday July 4!
Please respond to this email with ONE VOTE PER BOAT to make these
changes. I will be firing up the whatsapp chanel as well soon for day
to day fleet coms. Please respond ASAP so we can get the SI's changed
to reflect these amendments. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Thanks Jonathan. I have one addition to your comments - based on Fleet discussions last fall, we have Sue signed up to do RC on June 17 (when we were enthusiastic to get out on the water early!). So build that date into your boat launch schedule, if possible.
Attached please see the 2023 Summer Series NOR, where you will find our racing schedule.
FYI. We switched the Picnic Race from August 12 to August 19 (due to the craft fair on the 12th). Sue is not able to RC on the 12, so we will need a volunteer RC for that day. We will also need volunteers for the July 4 and Labor Day Trophy Races. Thanks for pitching in!
