Hi

Earlier in the Firebase project I could set a top level filter based on the platform such as iOS or Android. Our app uses a single Firebase project for both iOS and Android. But now the filter is not visible. So in sections like Dashboard, Events etc I can no longer filter out the data based on the platform. It shows all the data. This is very inconvenient since I cannot filter the Events based on the platform. Anybody knows what happened to this filter? Is it a bug?

please help

Thanks
Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,

The Analytics dashboard in Firebase has recently been updated with some Google Analytics 4 features which includes something called 'Comparisons' which replaces the previous Filters functionality. You should find that these are functionally the same, and you'll be able to use Comparisons just like you would use Filters.

In this case, you would first go into the Analytics dashboard and create and apply a Comparison (matching the same platform filtering conditions you would have created previously). From there, you can scroll down to the Events card in the main Analytics dashboard and click into any events that you want to compare based on the comparison group. Note that with comparisons, you can also add up to 5 comparison groups at the same time (as opposed to only filtering with one set of criteria at a time using Filters).

Hope that helps!

Hi Sumit

I think I found what I wanted. Basically we have to add a Platform comparison dimension and select the respective platforms. This seems to give the data pertaining to a single platform.

Thanks
Pradeep
