At a superficial level, biologists split the species based on how they externally look like. They saw that a cat looks different than a dog and they said that cats are a different species than dogs. But is it possible that in the case of humans, this division must be done by internal characteristics ? Given that from an external point of view, evolution considered that having hands and legs is enough, it didn't bother changing the external parts. Instead, it focused on changing the internal parts, like developing intelligence. As such, even though 2 entities (called by the same word "human") might look alike, they might belong to 2 entirely different species. Given the continuous problems that the inferior species designated by the same word "human" keep causing, like wars, economical stagnation, wokeism, totalitarian regimes, should the superior species designated by the same word "human" be acknowledged as being a different species and thus be geographically separated from the inferior species in order to be able to develop their proper civilization without being dragged down by the inferior species ?

Now, what do you think about this lad's claim? Looks to be a theologian(?) affiliated with University of Wisconsin. His claim is that an LLM, (Not a Neural net but an LLM!) can become conscious via recursion. I went through it I am open humanity stumbling about a new apsect of reality. I admit to all that I am highly supportive of Quantum Woo, and Quantum Woo is my favorite Chinese physicist!

Having fun shooting this down!

The abstract says "Consciousness is defined not as subjective awareness..." and at that point I stopped reading because if anything is proven it won't have anything to do with what you or me or the rest of the human race means by the word "consciousness". He's just playing with words, redefining something in a way that no one else uses.

@John. Woaaaa... you discovered the obvious! Trolololololol. These autistic "scientists" keep doing these things since time immemorial. And then the general public that is unable to understand their "theories" take those words and use them with their normal meanings, and they end up discussing retarded things like "conscious AI" and "universe" and "cells".

Well, I am one of those confused public but Twas ever thus.
Actually, Mind as the center of things has cropped up in physics. especially anything quantum. Less so special and general relativity. Physicists have gone quantum, because there's much more to study than what Einstein explained.

Since it's obvious you have no clue how biologists define a specie, first thing to do is, STFU! AG

@Alan. Did it ever occur to you that maybe biologists are wrong ?
