AI export restrictions

In its closing days the Biden administration has placed export restrictions on Nvidia's AI chips on every country in the world except for the following 18; Australia, Canada, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Korea and The United Kingdom. 

It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Taiwan is not on the list considering the fact that's where the chips are actually being manufactured. It's also odd that Iceland is not on that list, it already has large Bitcoin mining facilities because electricity is cheap and the weather is cold, and Iceland is a country that is friendly with the US. Of course all this may be irrelevant one week from today, who knows what crazy shit Donald Trump will do.
