Hi,

I am currently evaluating ERPNext and I would like your input on the following situation:
Our products are all Engineered to order.  Product A consist of an assembling which will be different every time (could be B+C+D, B+C+E, etc.).  Depending on it's configuration, product A will be sold at different prices.  We do not wish to create a new product code for every variance of product A we will produce.  Can ERPNext handle this type of manufacturing?  If yes, what would be the bests practices to follow?

Thank you!

Bernard

Hello Bernard,

Welcome to ERPNext forum!

Since your products are Engineered to Order, you will have to (mostly) create   Bill of Material (BOM) for every new order. ERPNext allows you creating multiple BOM for a production item. Hence, no need to add new item for each variance of production item.

Check following link to understand ERPNext manufacturing module better.
