Festival updates December 16

[Sustainable Practice]

Hello Festival friends!

We have a bunch of good news to share:

1) Our list of sponsors is growing, with Androscoggin Bank, Lee Toyota, Morning Glory Natural Foods, and The Mix on Park Row leading the charge.

2) We have hired Kat Hand to be our Festival Coordinator.  She and I will be having lunch this Friday to get her up to speed, then you'll probably be hearing directly from her as she brings her experience as a professional event organizer to bear on our endeavors.

3) We have a growing list of participating organizations, including ArtVan, Sierra Club Maine Chapter, and the Rotary Club of Brunswick. We'll be hosting a series of information sessions in January for groups that want to learn more about the Festival and how they can get involved.

4) We now have three official entries in our art contest and I've fielded inquiries from several more artists.

Which brings up the question, would you be willing to serve on our judging panel to help us select our winners? We have prizes to award for the general category (overall winner, any age) and specific age categories. The deadline for entries is January 10, so our judging panel will convene on January 12 or 13.

Please let me know if you're interested in judging our art entries, or know someone who might be a good judge of art.

Thanks for the good news, Fred.

Please include PeaceWorks in the list of participating organizations. 

We expect to have a table at the event and to bring some children and families to the children's parade. I'll be glad to work with parade organizers about the nuts and bolts of the parade.

And....if you still need art entry judges, I'm very glad to be part of that process in January.
