Hello everyone
I'm writing because I'm having problems in running DSI once having downloaded it.
I have Ubunu 20, so I downloaded the dsi_studio_ubuntu2004.zip, unzip it and then I double clicked the executable files "dsi_studio" and "AppRun" but the system gave me this error (see the attached image).
How can I solve the problem?
Many thanks

Beatrice

Hi Beatrice,

Are you able to run it from the terminal with "./"? Please refer to this discussion of a similar issue here:

Siva

Hi Siva! Thank you so much for your fast reply.
Now, after your suggestion, the last error doesn't occur. However, now when running ./dsi_studio gives the following error:

qt.core.qobject.connect: QObject::connect(QObject, Unknown): invalid nullptr parameter
qt.core.qobject.connect: QObject::connect(QObject, Unknown): invalid nullptr parameter
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not find the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in ""
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Aborted (core dumped)

How can I solve this problem?
Thanks

Beatrice

Try reinstalling Qt5 before launching dsi studio:
sudo apt-get install qt5-default
If it doesn't work, please checkout this solution: https://groups.google.com/g/dsi-studio/c/b61uyoo0CuI

I tried but this is the message: qt5-default is already the newest version (5.12.8+dfsg-0ubuntu2.1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 3 not upgraded.
When retrying to run ./dsi_studio the last error persists.
In the link that you shared I don't understand which one is the last solution. Also, unfortunately they are trying to run the version for Ubuntu 22, while I downloaded the 20 since this is my Ubuntu version.
Don't know how to overcome this problem
Best,

Beatrice

Hi Beatrice,

Another possible solution is to try running DSI studio using Docker container:   DSI-Studio/build_packages/ubuntu2004 at master · frankyeh/DSI-Studio (github.com)

Thanks Siva for the help.

Docker would be a quick solution.

Sorry for all the trouble.
Frank
