Amnesiac DS

Hey all,

My DS is suffering from amnesia. I capture something, work on it, close
and reopen DS and there's no media. I can select the clip, hit
recapture, then it's back until I next restart DS.

I'm assuming it's caused by a corrupted database so I'm trying to
remember which database to trash for the media manager to rebuild - is
it server.ummd?

Thanks Igor,

I was trying to remember where that wiki was 😀

Fwiw I broke the media indexer by trying to send a sequence from MC. It appears that DS doesn’t like the new DNxHD flavours (HQ, etc as opposed to 185 etc). 

I might have to revert my MC release if I want to try that again.

I work fulltime on Davinci Resolve now and still miss DS :-(

But I finished a Movie (recut, compositing grading subtitles etc) on Resolve and I am quite impressed (still I miss DS)

I think the same thing, I finalize with Resolve but I also always have the DS on the side just in case.  especially for compositing and Graphic tool which are always my favorites.

I actually don't miss DS much except maybe the paint and how well it worked with Wacom tablets. I'm pretty much 100% on Resolve now. I miss the idea of what DS could have been, like in an alternate universe where Blackmagic had acquired Softimage instead of Avid.

I always thought that some of the DS devs went over to Blackmagic…. Because there are a couple of similarities. But I wish that Blackmagic had acquire Softimage back then also.  O well…. Resolve is pretty fun. 😊
