Dear All,
I'm delighted to finally be able to officially announce the launch of IndieBio SF Session 1 (S1) our first cohort of 11 Biotech startups (many with deep roots in the DIYBio community).
Please feel free to reach out directly to any of these companies if you want to learn more about their technology or partner with them as they build novel biotechnology products and services.
Onwards and upwards with DIYBio!
Ryan

Really excited that I can start talking about these teams!
Also really looking forward to when I can announce an exciting session
in Cork; DIYbio peeps, if you want to be as well represented in Cork,
early applications get special consideration:

Awesome, some of these look pretty interesting. Congrats if anyone is out there listening, no idea if anyone is from the list.
Out of curiosity, and maybe this can help all future applicants...how advanced are the prototypes and data people tend to show during the pitch? Maybe you can't say, but were any of these companies "strictly idea" phase?
Would any teams be willing to share their pitch videos? I know Ycombinator leaves up some successful previous applicant videos, but I can also understand why a company wouldn't want to leave theirs up.

Some people come with ideas, others with proof of concept from past projects they want to commercialise. We're open to any: last year's SynbioAxlr8r none of the teams had a prototype.
For Cork, I'm eager to get applicants early so we can plan and design prototype #1 early and have it when teams arrive in Cork, so as to dive right into the hackage. Teams get the first 5k upon acceptance, so this is entirely feasible. We'll be working with teams to keep design on-track and get it sanity-checked, too. And, teams that want to begin prototyping *before* the programme are also welcome to do so, eager beavers that they are. :)

Definitely, we're all excited about the first class in SF and looking forward to the cork class which is accepting applications now!
Some of the first class are on the DIYBio list and some come from other routes (the teams are very global). Let us know if you're interested in being e-introduced to any of the companies!
