Google Sheets doesn't have a Save button, so everything you do gets saved as you go along, and the last automatic save in a session counts as an edit.
For the search to be executed, you have to type a word into the search cell. The search cell is A3, directly beneath "Woid to search for". And since that clearly was insufficiently obvious, I've added–or maybe it was added back–a prompt in that cell.
So, to search involves a typing a word and tabbing out of the cell, or hitting Enter. Entering that word counts as an edit, even if you erase it again straightaway. And if you only remember later to go back and erase it, that counts as another edit.
Not to fret.
