to Dixie Sailing Club
Thanks Scott for lining up some really good food. That bread pudding was so good I had to have 3 helpings. I hate I missed all the members that didn’t come. The Commodore’s Banquet is one of the events the club holds where we can get together, fellowship, tell stories, and otherwise socialize and get to know one another better. It’s also one of the ways that I can get to know newer members because I’m terrible at remembering names. I live 2 hours away but I try to make it as often as I can because I love being around everybody and having some fun.
The water will be coming up soon. I’ve got my Flying Scot just about ready for the new sailing season. I’m hoping more get interested in that type of boat so we can have a little good natured competition and build memories that turn into stories later. My 2 youngest kids have fond memories of growing up with DSC.
A lot of memories and stories involve people who are now in the past such as our beloved Ron Jenkie. It’s time to be making new memories with new members and telling new stories. I hope more members want to be a part of that.
See ya on the water,
Dave Hilgendorf
