How do I get back to the initialize status

So my 240 x 240 screen arrived today so I connected it up to the pi zero and when it boots there is a white line that runs down the left edge, I guess this is because on the initial setup I didnt have a screen so didnt select one. 
So how do I get back to the initialize button so I can check/select the small 240x 240 screen?
I even tried selecting Shell but I cant log in that way as the abcdefghij password doesnt work

Hey Mark,

I'm concerned your screen is busted, you might try reseating the ribbon
cable.

The screen default is for the st7789 240x240, so unless you changed it,
it should be working.  you can confirm the selection with,

Shell
password: raspberry
sudo remount
nano localize.env

NEWDISPLAYTYPE=st7789    << look for that

If you ssh from  another computer, the log in is pi. Craig gave you the rest of the info. I set in front of my pc must of the day so i use putty.

Hi Craig, 
you were 100% correct one of the screens is faulty. 

And yes I can now ssh onto the pi in my terminal.
One thing I want to do is to change the default password
using passwd command. 
Just to keep the hackers at bay!

Hey Mark - yah, that looks busted.  There's a ribbon cable that you might
be able to reseat and get it to work.  I've destroyed at least 4 of these
screens in my misadventures.  At least they're cheap.

To change the password, click Shell, password "raspberry"

sudo remount
passwd
