AC analysis did not work on Element edge models

Hello Juan:

While I try to simulate the AC analysis, the Edge model for electric field worked perfectly. But while I replace it with Element model, the capacitor just returns a value of 0. My script is base on the sample from "testing/ssac_cap.py". 

Can you help me how to solve it?

Hello,

You have discovered an issue. While element models are not supported
with 1D simulation, a simple 2D capacitor example is also not doing the
proper ac analysis, although the reported charge is correct.

This should be easy to fix, and I hope to have a solution by early next
week.

Hello,

The issue with element model assembly into the contact equations is fixed.  Please see the following release candidate:

Please see the added tests mentioned in the release note to compare equation specification differences between edge-based and element edge-based assembly.

Version 1.4.12-rc3

Element assembly for calculation of current and charges from the device into the circuit equation are fixed. These tests are added:

  • testing/cap_2d_edge.py
  • testing/cap_2d_element.py
  • testing/cap_3d_edge.py
  • testing/cap_3d_element.py

The edge variant is using standard edge based assembly, and the element variant is using element-based assembly.
